Based in the Suffolk countryside, Callum is still a relatively new face to the theatre industry. In addition to lighting design he also specialises as a production lighting technician and production electrician in theatre, corporate, dance and events. Callum is now working with various production companies around the UK and Europe in all parts of the entertainments industry.
In 2011 Callum studied Electrical Installation for two years at Suffolk New College in Ipswich, graduating on both the level 2 and level 3 courses. Other qualifications he now holds include Emergency First Aid At Work and IPAF.
There are few places in the UK Callum doesn’t get to throughout the year, he will always be on hand to meet and discuss any of your upcoming productions and events wherever you may be. Please do get in touch with any questions you may have from the contact form by clicking here.
A Curious Mind
Callum has a mind that just loves to take things apart and see exactly how they work, as a child his curiosity would often get the better of him and all sorts of things would be laying in pieces on the kitchen table with no idea on how to get them back together again.
He now takes this curiosity to lighting, he quickly worked out that he wasn’t learning in a classroom environment and spent many hours in his teenage years on work experience placements in local theatres and warehouses teaching himself how different lights worked. There aren’t many fixtures that Callum hasn’t had in pieces on the workshop table.
When he’s not working you’ll either find Callum doing something overly active or on Holiday. Callum is one of those people that simply can’t sit still, he loves nothing more than getting out and about and doing something that gets the adrenaline going. That could be anything from rock climbing, trekking in the woods, mountain biking in the forest or pretty much anything that makes you sweat!
He also loves jetting off across the world exploring new countries and cultures with his partner Katie, together they very much have a reputation with friends to either be working abroad or out of the country exploring.
